Sad

By Shiran Israel

My name is Shiran Israel (yeah, that's my last name), I'm a 15.5 year old stutterer from Israel. I really like your website, especially the "just for teens" section. I'm a song-writer, at least a song writer in training, and I would be really grateful if you put one of my songs in the creative expression part. People see their stuttering in different ways. Even those who are optimistic about it and accept it break sometimes. I'm not afraid to say it - my stuttering IS painful to me, and my heart breaks over and over again sometimes a couple of times a day. So I find my comfort in other ways. This song wasn't meant to be depressing at all, and I don't think it is. It is an awfully sarcastic song about a person who waits all of his life for something to happen, but then one day he realizes HE himself should make the change.

I feel so sad today
but, don't you worry, man, I'll be okay
'cause the sky is bright
and the stars are still above
and kids are playing with crying doves
The world goes on and fine
but I'm still waiting here for a sign
My train has left, it's far away
I'm just takin' it day by day

CHORUS

And if you see me down the street
I'm telling you - reach out for your dreams
And if you hold my hand and try to help
I'll say "give it to someone else"

I feel so sad today,
but, don't you worry - I feel great today
Because far away there's a happy child
and all the people are good and kind
I feel so low today
You know I will stay anyway
'Cause no matter how far I go
I can't escape and you'll still know
