Fitness testing can be a valuable tool in determining overall health status or when training for specific performance outcomes. The Holbrook Center offers various fitness testing and interpretation of aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity, body composition, and metabolic rate assessments.

Body Composition

Assessment Description Cost
Bod Pod & BIA The Bod Pod test requires subjects to wear tight clothing and sit calmly in the Bod Pod. The BIA test requires the subjects to stand on a scale with no shoes or socks. $60
Hydrostatic Weighing & BIA Subjects are weighed underwater in a specially designed tank. During the underwater weighing procedure, subjects are required to exhale as much air as possible while being weighed underwater. Subjects must wear a bathing suit for this test. The BIA test requires the subjects to stand on a scale with no shoes or socks. $60

Cardiorespiratory Tests

Assessment Description Cost
Aerobic Capacity Max Test (VO2max) Incremental exercise test conducted on a treadmill or stationary bicycle ergometer. $100
Lactate Threshold Incremental exercise test with a blood sample taken from the finger at the end of each test stage. It is not considered a maximal test but does require a difficult intensity. $100
Resting Metabolic Rate Subjects sit/lay for 10 minutes while wearing a nose clip and breathing through a mouthpiece. $40
