Step 1: Apply for internships with sport organizations

Step 2: Read internship syllabus and follow the checklist provided:

Step 3: Once an internship has been obtained with a sport or physical activity related organization, you must meet with your site supervisor and have s/he complete the Site Supervisor Form. You must have an electronic copy (.pdf) of this form and be able to upload it to the online application in Step 4.

Step 4: Students must fill out an: Online Internship Application in order to be able to register for the appropriate Applied Sport Business or Internship credits. Please read through the information, student expectations, responsibilities, and have your internship goals and objectives prepared prior to completing the form. Be sure to include the number of hours you plan on completing as well as complete contact information for your site supervisor. Once you have applied, you will be given an internship ID #, you will NEED this number throughout your internship. This is NOT your techID#.

Sept 5: Once your application has been submitted, email the Sport Management faculty internship supervisor for the semester so you can obtain the final permission to register for 488 and/or 496. Then register for the proper number of credits once permission has been provided. Note that each credit is 50 hours of internship, you will need 9 credits in total to graduate.

Step 6: Each week fill out the Weekly Report form and submit it online by 11 A.M. Monday morning to the Weekly Report Submission link. Be sure to include your intership ID# (remember this is not your techID#). When uploading your document be sure to include your name in the file (ex: Zdroik Week 1).

Step 7: Mid-Term Evaluations:

  1. Halfway through the hours your site supervisor will receive an email with your midterm evaluation form and your internship ID#. Remind them to fill that out and submit it, if they lost the email send them this link.
  2. Send an email introducing your site supervisor and your faculty supervisor so they can set up a phone evaluation.

Step 8: Final Evaluations:

  1. Once you have completed your hours, your site supervisor will receive an email with your final evaluation form and your intership ID#. Remind them to fill that out and submit it, if they lost the email send them this link.
  2. Upload your updated resume, LinkedIn Profile, as well as your final reflection the same way you do submit your logs.
