Laura Day

Senior Vice President of Business Development, Minnesota Twins

Laura Day was named Senior Vice President of Business Development for the Minnesota Twins on August 28, 2006. Currently, Day oversees the ballclub’s revenue generation including ticket sales and corporate partnerships, while also playing a key role in shaping the team’s strategic plan. Day’s primary focus is maximizing revenues associated with the team’s transition from the Metrodome to Target Field.

Day got her start in sports working for the Minnesota Twins from 1991 to 1999, where she held a variety of posts including vice president of sales and marketing, director of corporate marketing, and promotions manager. She joined the Minnesota Twins from the Minneapolis Convention and Visitor’s Association where she created the strategic plan for sponsorship and membership development. Prior to working with the Minnesota Twins, Day was one of the first Minnesota Wild employees, helping launch the Xcel Energy Center as vice president of corporate partnerships from 1999 to 2002. During her time with the Minnesota Wild, she helped convert 12,000 season ticket deposits to paid status, launched the Twin Cities first premium seating program (selling out in a record eight weeks), and oversaw the team’s corporate partnership team, which included the acquisition of naming rights and building founding partners.

Day was inducted into the Sport Business Hall of Fame in April 2010. She was chosen because she has made a significant impact in the field of sport business as well as paved a way for the number of women working in the sport business field to grow. Day has been a great leader for the sport management students at Minnesota State University, Mankato providing new opportunities with the Minnesota Twins.

Laura is a proven sports business leader in our market and we are lucky to have her on the MSU Advisory Board. I feel lucky to work in the Twins organization and with such respected leaders in the industry.
