The following information and resources are designed to help students successfully navigate course registration and ensure their academic records remain accurate and up to date.

How to Transfer Minnstate Courses to MSU

  1. Once your final grades have been posted, submit an electronic ticket to the MSU Registration & Academic Records Office.
  2. Registration and Academic Records Topic: Select Transfer of Credits
  3. Description: 
    • Ask the office to transfer the course(s) to MSU for evaluation.
    • Provide the name of the college/university and the semester.
  4. Enter your StarID, First Name, Last Name, Your email address and Submit.
  5. Students will receive an automatic email, and another one once the course(s) has been transferred and evaluated. 
  6. Students should review their updated Degree Audit for confirmation.

How to Transfer Non-Minnstate Courses to MSU

This includes any courses taken from the University of Minnesota (any campus), private colleges, or out of state colleges/universities.

  1. Go to the school's website, search official transcript.
  2. Follow the instructions to order an official transcript to be sent to the Undergraduate Admissions Office, admissions@mnsu.edu.
  3. Students will receive an email once the course(s) has been transferred and evaluated. 
  4. Students should review their updated Degree Audit for confirmation.
