A Spiral Notebook
This section features miscellaneous notes and personal correspondence, much of which is previously unpublished, found in a box now in the possession of Andrew Amor who says, "As I started to sift through the box, which Grampa humbly referred to as 'junk,' I discovered real treasure. Throughout his life, Grampa tucked little notes away in funny places to be found by Grandma Katy and the grandkids. He even had one in his old scruffy fisherman's hat that said, 'Hello!'
When I first dug through the layers of 'compost' I found his familiar WMU letterhead with this note scrolled on to it:
Hi Andy:
A voice from the grave.
I smile thinking of you wading thru all this junk.
Hell, make a bonfire & forget it.

No, these pages of Van Riper's journaling and correspondence will not be burned nor forgotten. Instead this section will become a place to burn his ideas into the minds and hearts of those who care to listen. (Andy Amor)
