Fearlessness

"Fearlessness may be a gift but perhaps more precious is the courage acquired through endeavor, courage that comes from cultivating the habit of refusing to let fear dictate one's actions" - Aung San Suu Kyi

Something to Think About Becoming Fearless:

1. We all have fears which mainly focus on not being good enough at something. Lists 5 strengths or things that you suspect are true about you.

  • I know that

  • I know that

  • I know that

  • I know that

  • I know that

This exercise is a conscious acknowledgement of your truths and will help you focus on positive change.

2. Fear can feel like a choke hold. Pretend that the object of your fear is actually a blessing in disguise. How might your stuttering turn out to help rather than hinder you?

3. When you fear (stuttering) can't be avoided, how do you react? Think about your stuttering, write down at least three physical attributes of your fear. What does fear feel like in your body?

 A.

B.

C.

4. Now think about the emotional aspect? How does your "selftalk" change your emotions? How can you respond in a healthy way to your fear?

5. Now visualize yourself in a tough situation with a positive person at your side. Think about yourself handling this situation in a positive way.
