Stutter With Her
By John Karpinski
I stuttered and lived a very lonely life.
Behind the mask was pain and strife.
Time passed and the year was 1992.
I was excited to meet someone new.
When we spoke there was no clock.
She had patience with every block.
I no longer needed to wear a mask.
So naturally I had a question to ask.
She said, "Yes" and we said, "I do"
Every block she loves me through.
