Minnesota State Mankato’s Maverick Family Nursing Simulation Center Receives Full Accreditation with Specialization in Teaching/Education


Mankato, Minn. – 
Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Maverick Family Nursing Simulation Center recently received full accreditation with specialization in the area of teaching/education from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare through Dec. 31, 2029.

The accreditation is “the gold standard in healthcare simulation” and “signifies your commitment to excellence, sets you apart from the competition,” according to the SSH webpage on accreditation.

The Society for Simulation in Healthcare Board of Review highlighted the Maverick Family Nursing Simulation Center’s facility and program staff as its strengths.

The Maverick Family Nursing Simulation Center has 16,000 square feet and includes three adult simulation suites (surgical, obstetrics, pediatric) and a home health suite. The center also includes a multibed skills lab, five integration stations, three debrief rooms, three control rooms and two medication dispensing rooms.

The Maverick Family Nursing Simulation Center is part of the University’s College of Allied Health and Nursing and is located in Minnesota State Mankato’s Clinical Sciences Building.
