Education: 

  • B.S. in Communication Sciences & Disorders, Minnesota State University, Mankato, 2019 
  • M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology, East Tennessee State University, 2021 

Teaching: Tino’s goals are to enhance students' clinical experience in speech language pathology, specifically related to working with adult and geriatric client population. Tino is passionate about promoting a learning environment that fosters professionalism and provides adequate preparation for real-world thinking in a clinical setting.

  • CDIS 201: Observation of Human Communication
  • CDIS 695: Clinical Practicum: Communication Disorders (Dysphagia Preparation Lab portion of the course)

Tino is bilingual, and due to her multicultural upbringing, values integrating the acknowledgement and respect of diverse cultural backgrounds into her/her student's clinical practice.

Tino is developing a Swallowing Disorders Clinic Program which will introduce the use of Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES) at the Center of Communication Sciences & Disorders here at MNSU. Launching in Fall 2025, the program will offer comprehensive dysphagia assessment and intervention services for individuals in the community who are experiencing swallowing difficulties.

This initiative enhances the Center’s clinical offerings and provides much-needed access to state-of-the-art diagnostic procedures and evidence-based treatments for swallowing disorders.

Tino is also a trained SPEAK OUT & Loud Crowd Provider.
