Teaching

Dr. Lauderbaugh’s teaching goals are to prepare students to work effectively and compassionately across a wide range of settings. Her instruction emphasizes evidence-based assessment and intervention, interprofessional collaboration, and culturally responsive practices. She strives to help students become reflective, client-centered clinicians who are adaptable across diverse service settings and equipped to navigate complex clinical and educational environments with confidence.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Lauderbaugh’s areas of interest include the relationship between behavior and communication, culturally responsive evaluation and treatment, speech sound disorders, and school-based speech-language pathology practice. She is particularly interested in communication assessment and intervention for students with complex behavioral and educational needs, as well as the intersection of speech-language services and special education systems. Her teaching and research focus on evidence-based clinical practice, equitable access to services, interdisciplinary collaboration, and preparing future clinicians to approach clinical decision-making with integrity and strong clinical reasoning.
