Teaching
Dr. Lauderbaugh’s teaching goals are to prepare students to work effectively and compassionately across a wide range of settings. Her instruction emphasizes evidence-based assessment and intervention, interprofessional collaboration, and culturally responsive practices. She strives to help students become reflective, client-centered clinicians who are adaptable across diverse service settings and equipped to navigate complex clinical and educational environments with confidence.

Areas of Interest
Dr. Lauderbaugh’s areas of interest include the relationship between behavior and communication, autism, stuttering, culturally responsive evaluation and treatment, and neurogenic communication disorders. She is particularly focused on the intersection of speech-language services and special education systems, and how SLPs can partner with families, educators, and other professionals to support meaningful communication, inclusive practices, and equitable access to services. Her research also explores burnout and job-person fit among future professionals, with the goal of promoting career sustainability and well-being in the field.
