Laura is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Minnesota. Over the past 15 years, she has practiced in a variety of human service organizations including in K-12 school systems, in outpatient and residential treatment programs, provided in-home counseling to children and families, and worked with federal and state employment and training programs for adults and adolescents in Southern Minnesota. Additionally, Laura has served as a social work faculty member teaching a variety of courses as an adjunct faculty, an off-site field instructor for BSSW students, an Interim MSW Field Director, and is currently the BSSW Director of Field Education at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
In 2012, she was awarded the Minnesota Social Service Association Outstanding Staff Achievement Award for Region IX in South Central Minnesota for her work in South Central Minnesota, and was a Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Instructor for rural area schools in Southern Minnesota. She has completed the 30-hour Social Work Supervisor training required by the Minnesota Board of Social Work, and has been a Field Instructor for students in both the BSSW and MSW of Social Work programs.
