Christine Black-Hughes became a member of the Social Work faculty in 1994. She received her Ph.D. from The Union Institute, an MSW from The Ohio State University and a BSW from Wright State University.
Christine has focused her research interests on interdisciplinary practice and ethics and electronic instructional methods. She has worked with a multi-disciplinary team on the development of disability assessment instrument for the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Chris is primarily responsible for the Practicum experiences but has also taught a variety of social work courses.
Chris has practice experience in the areas of adult, child and family mental health and women's issues. She has also worked with community based alcohol and drug addiction programs. She has served on the Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board and was a delegate to the American Association of State Social Work Boards and serves on the Minnesota Conference of Social Work Educators (MCSWE) and on the Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors' Educational Resources for Information Technology Committee.
