Sports Management is a business degree with a focus on managing sports, exercise, and fitness. It is the business side of the sport and the Sport Management B.S. prepares students to work in the exciting and dynamic world of sports business! The Sport Management industry is constantly growing and changing and we prepare students to plan and manage sports experiences in a variety of private, public, and commercial settings such as professional sports teams, college sports athletic departments, sports facilities/arenas, health and fitness organizations, sports tourism and many others!


What is the curriculum in the Sport Management major?

The Minnesota State University, Mankato Sport Management major bases our curriculum on the highest standards in the industry.We Prepare students with sport business concepts that enhance skills and knowledge in the following areas: management, marketing, promotions, communications, personal and product liability, negligence and risk management, public relations, consumer behavior, facilities, finance, public speaking, and much more.
