The Applied Health Science major is the only one of its kind in the Minnesota State University System. Students choose a path to support careers and/or seek further training in health education and promotion or another allied health profession. All students completing the major will be health educators and eligible for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) credential. This major offers five career track options: Health Education and Promotion, Public Health, Occupational Therapy Preparation, Athletic Training Preparation and Healthcare Administration Preparation.
The Health Education and Promotion track in Applied Health Science is for students interested in pursuing a career in health promotion and disease prevention.
The Public Health track in Applied Health Science is for students interested in pursuing a career and/or a graduate degree in public health.
The Occupational Therapy Preparation track in Applied Health Science is for students seeking to pursue a graduate degree in Occupational Therapy
The Healthcare Administration Preparation track in Applied Health Science is for students seeking to pursue a graduate degree in Healthcare Administration.
The Pre-Athletic Training Prep track in Applied Health Science is for students seeking to pursue a graduate degree in Athletic Training.
