12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
Clinical Sciences Building 112 or live Zoom
Students, staff and faculty are invited to join the College of Allied Health and Nursing for the inaugural event in our Culturally Responsive Communication in Allied Health and Nursing Series.
Kari Sween and Joel Sween, our American Sign Language (ASL) experts from the Department of Speech, Hearing and Rehabilitation Services will be joining us for the first topic in the series.
These events are free and open to students, faculty and staff. Please bring questions! For example, as faculty, how do we create an inclusive classroom for students with different hearing status? As students, what can we do to engage and support students who are hard of hearing? How can we serve clients who are deaf or hard of hearing in the allied health and nursing fields?
Panelists: Kari Sween, American Sign Language (ASL) Assistant Professor & Joel Sween, ASL Adjunct Faculty

Moderators:

About the series: This series invites experts to share their lived experiences, discuss skill building opportunities, and ideas and recommendations for best practices in the relevant context in the field. We hope to create a proactive dialogue using this platform to serve faculty and students in the College of Allied Health and Nursing.
