As one of just three dental hygiene programs in the state of Minnesota offering a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, our students receive the clinical and theoretical foundation necessary for a fulfilling and in-demand career.

  • Since 2013, all students have passed the national, written exam on the first attempt
  • Our program is approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation

Our graduates go on to be clinicians, change agents, educators, researchers, and consumer advocates as put forth by the American Dental Hygienists' Association.

About Us and What to Expect

As a student, you'll have the opportunity to work with excellent faculty in a new facility, including a 25-chair public dental clinic. In the dental simulation lab, you'll practice new dental hygiene skills prior to working on patients in a safe, realistic environment. State-of-the-art technology is incorporated in both the clinic and classroom settings.

The dental hygiene curriculum is designed to provide opportunities for you to develop a sound clinical and theoretical foundation for the practice of dental hygiene. You'll also be trained to place fillings, which is not typically offered at 2-year institutions. The Dental Hygiene Program is approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

Since 2012, all students passed the regional practical exam on the first attempt. For the national, written exam, the success rate on national board exam has been above the national average. Since 2013, all students have passed the national exam on the first attempt.

We invite you to launch your career in dental hygiene at Minnesota State, Mankato!
