Welcome to the Rural Behavioral Health Clinic
The Rural Behavioral Health Clinic at Minnesota State University, Mankato, made possible by Blue Cross® and Blue Shield® of Minnesota, provides affordable and accessible mental health services designed to meet the unique needs of the rural communities in southern Minnesota.
Located in University Square in Mankato, we provide accessible services tailored to your needs and available for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. We offer individual, relational, and group sessions in person, through telehealth, and in the community.
We are a training clinic where students from Minnesota State University, Mankato’s interdisciplinary programs provide behavioral health services under the close supervision of licensed professionals. This model offers clients high-quality, evidence-based care from clinicians who bring fresh perspectives and dedicate significant time and attention to each case.
We believe everyone deserves access to mental health support, and do not turn anyone away due to inability to pay. We accept both private and public insurance and a variety of payment options. Billing information is available here.
Made possible through the support of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, Congressionally Directed Spending, and State Appropriation funding, our clinic represents a commitment to expanding mental health resources in our region.
Services Offered
- Case Management Services: Connecting clients to resources and supports.
- Social-Emotional Skills Training: Helping individuals build healthy ways to understand and regulate emotions, communicate effectively, handle stress, and develop positive relationships.
- Community Education: Providing training and outreach activities designed to increase mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and promote early intervention in the community.
- Mental Health Counseling: Providing a safe and supportive space to explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to improve wellbeing.
