A training clinic is a healthcare facility where graduate students gain hands-on experience providing mental health services under the close supervision of licensed professionals. At the Rural Behavioral Health Clinic, our clinicians are master's level students from Minnesota State University Mankato's Social Work and Counseling and Student Personnel programs who work directly with clients while receiving extensive guidance and oversight.
This model creates a unique therapeutic environment that benefits both clients and the community. Clients receive thoughtful, evidence-based care from clinicians who bring fresh perspectives and dedicate significant time to each case. Every aspect of care is reviewed by experienced licensed supervisors, ensuring high-quality treatment. Additionally, training clinics help build our region's mental health workforce by preparing the next generation of therapists and social workers.
Our student clinicians work as an interdisciplinary team, collaborating to provide comprehensive care while learning from each other's diverse approaches and backgrounds. This team-based approach, combined with close supervision, allows us to offer thorough, well-rounded support for our clients' mental health needs.
Located in University Square in Mankato, we provide accessible mental health therapy and case management services. Our clinic is uniquely designed to serve both the Mankato community and surrounding rural areas.
