Rec N’ Read open house April 9
Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Rec N’ Read program is hosting an open house for children in grades K-5 and their families on Saturday, April 9 from 10am - Noon.
The free event will feature games and activities, a book giveaway, and an opportunity to learn about Rec N’ Read’s after school and summer camps.
Rec N’ Read offers both after school programs and summer recreation and literacy camps to help struggling readers in grades K-5. Children—who are assigned to work with University students who implement individualized attention under the supervision of expert faculty—engage in literacy interventions with fun recreation activities in a group setting.
The open house will be in the Clinical Sciences Building on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato. The address is 150 South Road; building is located north of the Taylor Center and east of Ford Hall. Parking is free.
Rec N’ Read is a collaboration between the University’s Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Department and the Communication Sciences & Disorders program.
