In a bid to foster global understanding and collaboration in healthcare, Hans-Peter de Ruiter, director of the Glen Taylor Institute of Family and Society, convened recently with the Vienna Educational and Continued Education Center. In an enthusiastic discussion, both parties explored various topics, notably focusing on the development of a diverse and inclusive nursing workforce.
The parties emphasized the importance of creating nursing and care education models that harness the unique knowledge and experiences refugees and immigrants bring to local communities.
Additionally, the group discussed the formulation of an education program tailored to supporting family caregivers, recognizing their indispensable role in healthcare. The discourse further delved into exploring novel didactic and pedagogical strategies aimed at effectively engaging non-traditional healthcare learners.
