Dental Hygiene hosts Veteran's Day free clinic
The Department of Dental Education, together with the 3rd District of the American Legion Auxiliary, provided free dental hygiene services at the MSU, Mankato Dental Clinic for active, reserve, and retired military personnel on Monday, November 11. Thirty-eight individuals received cleanings, exams, x-rays, fluoride treatments.
Amy Haycraft, Associate Professor in the MSU School of Nursing, attended the event and stated, “I observed several dental hygiene students and was impressed with their positivity, professionalism, and graciousness. As these students thanked the American Legion Auxiliary President, Tamara L. Thayer for the opportunity to donate their time and skills, I was filled with a sense of pride to be a member of the CAHN.”
This is an annual event as a way for the Department of Dental Education to give back to the community and thank military personnel for their service.
