The MSW Program has been designed to try to meet the needs of students who may be working and also may have other obligations that make it appealing to be on campus only a couple days a week. Some MSW courses are offered as "hybrid" or "web-enhanced" courses, which means these selected courses have fewer face-to-face contact hours, and more expectation of online/Internet-based work. The program is, however, a full-time program and we discourage students from working full-time, particularly during the Spring and Summer terms while in field practicum.
We offer the required MSW courses primarily on Thursday evenings, Fridays (starting as early as 9:00 a.m.) and Saturdays (starting as early as 9:00 a.m.). Elective courses may be offered during other days and times. Classes may begin as early as 9:00 a.m. and end as late as 9:00 pm on Fridays, and may begin as early as 8:00 am and end as late as 6:00 pm on Saturdays. Students need to be prepared to be on campus for classes or meetings 2 days a week, and sometimes 3 days of the week depending on the course offerings in a given semester. Courses are currently offered only one time per year. See the curriculum page for information about which courses are offered in which semester and how they are sequenced.
For access to class schedules for the current or next term, go to the Registrar's Office.
Once on this page you can enter the specific year, semester, and department in which you wish to find courses. Final schedules for courses offered in summer and fall are generally available by March of the prior spring. Schedules for courses offered in spring are generally available by November of the prior fall. All course schedules are subject to some change in days, times, and instructors.
