Finances for the MSW Child Welfare Progarm
Students who are accepted into the MSW CWP receive $5000 (pre-tax) in the fall, spring, and summer semesters for a total of $15,000 each academic year.
- Traditional Program: scholars are eligible to receive the stipend for six semesters
- Advanced Standing Program: scholars are eligible to receive the stipend for three semesters.
Additional financial support is available for:
- completing your internship in a tribal agency;
- internships that require you travel more than 50 miles away from your personal residence; and
- to participate in required or recommended workshops/trainings.
Receiving CWP funds may be reflected as part of your financial aid package; meet with Student Financial Services to understand your specific circumstances.
By accepting the funding, you are agreeing to repayment upon graduation by working in an approved child welfare agency. MORE INFORMATION
All information related to program availability or amounts of the stipend are contingent on the Department receiving the Title IV-E contract for the budgeted amount from the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Scholars will be notified in a timely manner if there is any change to the contract.
