PROGRAM WILL LAUNCH JANUARY 2023! Complete your Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Bachelor of Science degree through Minnesota State University, Mankato. All courses are taught at North Hennepin Community College and online. This program is designed for those who have earned college credits and are or plan to work in the parks and recreation field. Through hands-on learning, experiences in the field, and in-classroom learning, the Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services at North Hennepin Community College offers learners opportunities to expand their skill set and advance professional goals.

National Accreditation
The Department of Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services (RPLS) is the only nationally accredited undergraduate RPLS program in the state.
We seek to:
- Prepare professionals to move into leadership positions across the state
- Provide degree completion for parks and recreation professionals working in the Twin Cities/Metro area
- Engage individuals who have nearly completed/completed their AA or AS but need a bachelor’s degree to advance their career
Program Highlights:
- Apply up to 80 credits from other institutions
- Most courses are 8 weeks
- Summer courses are approximately 5 weeks
- Complete the program in 2 years
National Accreditation
The Department of Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services at Minnesota State University, Mankato received its initial accreditation in 1986 and has maintained that status since then.
Job Placement Percentage
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projections for the employment rate of recreation professionals (SLPs) are expected to grow much faster than average through the year 2026.
