About the Program
Welcome to the Pre-Licensure Nursing Program at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
This program is designed for students that wish to pursue a baccalaureate degree in nursing and eventual licensure as a Registered Nurse.
The program is challenging and rewarding. Our program offers students the opportunity to practice in a variety of settings in both rural (Mankato area) and urban areas (Rochester &Twin cities).
As the Pre-Licensure Program Coordinator, I am responsible for coordinating activities within this undergraduate program and monitoring student progression. It is a privilege to work with our students who are eager to join the nursing profession and faculty who are committed to educating students in a caring environment.

Minnesota State University, Mankato has offered the professional nursing program since 1953 and is one of the nation's most respected Schools of Nursing (SON). The Pre-Licensure Program is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. The baccalaureate degree in nursing at Minnesota State University, Mankato is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
Licensure and Certification
Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination–Registered Nurse (NCLEX–RN). Successfully passing this examination permits the graduate to practice as a registered nurse (RN). Graduates will have met the requirements for certification as public health nurses and licensure as school nurses in Minnesota.
