Because Applied Health Science is a growing and evolving field, students have flexibility in career options. Overall employment of health education specialists and related occupations is projected to grow 13 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations.

Students are also well prepared to pursue advanced or additional degrees, such as the MPH.  The Master of Public Health degree is science based, designed for advanced training in epidemiology, infectious disease control, environmental health, violence prevention, and other issues that affect health and safety.  This is a practice based rather than a research degree.

Students who aspire to research degrees are well prepared for doctoral programs such a PhD or Doctorate of Health Science (D. H.Sc.)
