Athletic Training Students' Perceptions of the Importance and Effectiveness of Psychological Skills within Sport Injury Rehabilitation
The purpose of this study is to explore athletic training students' perceptions of the importance and effectiveness of psychological skills within sport injury rehabilitation. This study will provide information to better assess if accredited athletic training education programs are incorporating psychological skills training into athletic training class and clinical work.
We are in the process of collecting survey information from athletic training students at various universities in the U.S.
Results of this study will hopefully lead to the development of a Psychology of Injury class at MSU. We have submitted our study for presentation at the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) Conference in September, 2009.
