Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services

Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services sounds like a department of fun and games—and indeed it's a fun field of study. Graduates find rewarding jobs at national parks, resorts, sports facilities, theme parks, community centers, rehabilitation centers, long-term care facilities, and other recreational venues where they have fun on a daily basis. They work outdoors, indoors, and even in clinical settings, but they're rarely tied to a desk from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Students here at the only nationally accredited undergraduate RPLS program in the state learn the science behind the play. They also learn how to help people live well and flourish, and how to manage natural resources for people's enjoyment now and for generations to come. Learn more »

What our graduates have to say

"Time and time again, we look back at our education at MSU and are able to connect what we learned to what we see and handle each day in our jobs. Being able to have that direct application of what we have learned to what we actively do is truly amazing and we have you to thank for this!"
