The 2–year Master of Science (M.S.) degree program in Rehabilitation Counseling consists of 48–semester hours of required coursework, which includes a 100–hour combined on–campus and off–campus counseling practicum and a 900–hour internship in a selected rehabilitation setting.

The Rehabilitation Counseling program requirements are in compliance with national accreditation standards of the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE), for which it has had continuous accreditation since 1978. The Minnesota State University, Mankato Rehabilitation Counseling program will undergo its' next 8–year accreditation review during the 2013–2014 academic year. Current accreditation period ends on August 31, 2014.
