The transfer student application process for Minnesota State University, Mankato includes an official credit evaluation completed by the Office of the Registrar on all transfer credits. In general, all courses that were successfully completed at the transferring community college or university are accepted.

Three variables affect the total program costs for students: Transferring degree(s) – (AA, AS, BA, or BS); full or part–time status; and amount of tuition and fees established for the academic year. In general, a student with a prior baccalaureate degree in another field of study and an associate degree in nursing will be required to take a total of minimum of 40 credits to complete. Prior students cost to complete ranged from $8,250 – $12,000. AA degreed students have typically satisfied the general education requirements at Minnesota State University, Mankato and need to fulfill the other university requirements. Prior students cost to complete ranged from $10,000 – $15,000. AS degreed students are more difficult to estimate because of the large variation of credits between the nursing programs and the majority of AS degreed students may need to take the Chemistry prerequisite course, general education courses, and fulfill the other university requirements. Prior student cost to complete ranged from $15,000 – $21,600. Please note that these are only estimated costs of the program; however, once your transcripts are evaluated and a plan of study is developed you will have a better estimate of the cost of the program.

Currently, the amount of commuting consists of 1 – 2 days each semester. The first Wednesday of the semester and then approximately two–thirds through the semester are designated as face–to–face meeting dates.
All courses are a hybrid of on-line via Desire–to–learn and 1–2 face–to–face meeting dates per semester. Students have requested that the courses be offered entirely online. Thus, the faculty is currently trialing new meeting technology: MetNet and WebEx to offer a totally online course curriculum.
Yes. Students who work full–time typically do best by going to school on a part–time basis by taking 1–2 courses per semester.
Yes. Some students take one course each semester while others do a full–time plan of study. The curriculum and individualized plans of study allow the student to progress at whatever rate best supports the student's successful completion of the program.
