Welcome to the Basic Nursing Program in the School of Nursing at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
This program is designed for students that wish to pursue a baccalaureate degree in nursing and eventual licensure as a Registered Nurse.
The program is challenging and rewarding. Our program offers students the opportunity to practice in a variety of settings in both rural (Mankato area) and urban areas (Rochester &Twin cities).
As Basic Nursing Program Coordinator, I am responsible for coordinating activities within the basic nursing program and monitoring student progression. It is a privilege to work with our students who are eager to join the nursing profession and faculty who are committed to educating students in a caring environment.

Basic Nursing Program Coordinator
Minnesota State University, Mankato has offered the professional nursing program since 1953 and is one of the nation's most respected Schools of Nursing (SON). The Basic Nursing Program is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Licensure and Certification
Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination–Registered Nurse (NCLEX–RN). Successfully passing this examination permits the graduate to practice as a registered nurse (RN). Graduates will have met the requirements for certification as public health nurses and licensure as school nurses in Minnesota.
