Procedure

Applications for admission in Human Performance Graduate Programs are competitive and all required application materials must be received by March 1 for priority consideration.  Early application is recommended as enrollment is limited.  If a vacancy occurs during the academic year, mid-year admission is possible.

Applicants must submit the following materials:

  1. Completed application to Minnesota State University, Mankato sent directly to the College of Graduate Studies and Research (or completed online at http://grad.mnsu.edu/applying/).
  2. Completed undergraduate (or graduate) statistics or tests and measurements course as a prerequisite. (Note: You could be provisionally admitted without this course, but would need to complete HP 464-Data Analysis in Sport, or an equivalent statistics course before enrolling in the graduate statistics course required for the degree).
  3. Official transcript(s) listing undergraduate/graduate degree(s) sent directly from the degree granting institution to the College of Graduate Studies and Research.
  4. Three letters of recommendation (see [PDF] recommendation form (194 KiB)).
  5. Statement of Interest (2-3 page essay describing your career goals, reasons for pursing a graduate degree, and how you plan to use the graduate degree you are applying for.  The Statement of Interest will also serve as your writing sample.)
  6. Professional resume or vita.

All items should be sent directly to the College of Graduate Studies and Research:Items 4, 5 and 6 (3 letters of recommendation, statement of interest, and professional resume/vita) should be sent directly to the Human Performance Graduate Coordinator at: (Note: If you have already sent these items to the College of Graduate Studies, they will be forwarded to Dr. Kamphoff)
