Master of Arts in Physical Education: Thesis Plan

This degree requires a minimum of 30 credits with language competency, 32 credits without. Twenty semester credits must be in disciplines associated with Human Performance, and written and oral comprehensive examinations are required. Fifty percent (minimum) of coursework is required to be at the 600 (graduate only) level, excluding thesis credits.

The thesis must show independent thought in the recognition of a clearly defined problem and in the methods of its treatment. It must conform to an approved manual of style and be approved by the student's examining committee and graduate dean.

Master of Arts in Physical Education: Alternate Plan

This degree requires a minimum of 34 credits with language competency, 36 credits without. Twenty credits must be in the disciplines associated with Human Performance, and a culminating alternate paper and written comprehensive examination are required. The paper must be approved for an Alternate Plan by student's graduate advisor and may be developed in connection with a graduate course in human performance, as part of an internship or practicum, or in an individual study arrangement. Fifty percent (minimum) of coursework is required to be at the 600 (graduate only) level, excluding alternate plan paper credits.

Master of Science in Physical Education: Thesis Plan

This degree requires a minimum of 30 credits with 18 credits in disciplines associated with Human Performance (including thesis). Professional education requires a minimum of 4 credits, and general education consisting of outside electives requires 6 credits. Both written and oral comprehensive examinations are required. The Thesis must show independent thought in the recognition of a clearly defined problem and in the method of its treatment. In addition, the thesis must conform to an approved manual of style and be approved by the student's examining committee and graduate dean. Fifty percent (minimum) of coursework is required to be at the 600 (graduate only) level, excluding thesis credits.

Master of Science in Physical Education: Alternate Plan

This degree requires a minimum of 34 credits with 20 credits in disciplines associated with Human Performance, minimum of 4 credit hours in professional education, and 6 credits in general education consisting of outside electives. An alternate plan paper and written comprehensive examination are also required. The paper must be approved for an Alternate Plan by student's graduate advisor and may be developed in connection with a graduate course in human performance, as part of an internship or practicum, or in an individual study arrangement. Fifty percent (minimum) of coursework is required to be at the 600 (graduate only) level, excluding alternate plan paper credits.
