Greetings from the Department of Dental Hygiene! Advancing the profession of dental hygiene through baccalaureate dental hygiene education and technology continues to be the focus at MSU preparing oral health practitioners for the future.
Angela Monson, MS and Lynnette Engeswick, MS launched the BS degree completion online curriculum Fall 2005. The program passed its pilot year with flying colors. If you are interest in completing a BS in dental hygiene online, please email angela.monson@mnsu.edu
Digital radiography was incorporated into the curriculum this past year. There were only a few normal computer glitches and growing pains. Employers are delighted to hire graduates who have experience with this technology as well as the other wonderful technological advancements that MSU has to offer.
Thanks to fantastic community relationships and the support of adjunct faculty, MSU senior dental hygiene students continue to provide dental hygiene services at the following sites:
Brigette Cooper, MS is leading out the restorative functions curriculum. The first year this program was offered to senior students as an elective. Twenty three of the twenty four students elected to take part in the course. Advancing access to care through implementation of restorative functions education is now part of the dental hygiene curriculum at MSU. If you are interested in returning to MSU to complete the restorative functions education, please contact brigette.cooper@mnsu.edu
Please remember that dental restorations are available each spring semester on Wednesday evenings at MSU for the under insured and under served as well for as for the general population. For an appointment call our clinic at 507–389–2147.
We welcome alumni ideas and comments. Please keep connected!
